Mental Health Humanitarian Award
Rhonda Cornum, MD PhD, was US Army Brigadier General in charge of the Comprehensive Soldier Fitness program that focuses on developing the physical, emotional, social, family and spiritual dimensions of soldiers and their families. During the Gulf War, while a flight surgeon aboard a helicopter in search of a downed pilot, Dr. Cornum was shot down, injured, made a prisoner of war, and endured both physical and psychological assault. For her commitment to the psychological care of our troops and their families, MSPP is proud to present her with our Mental Health Humanitarian award.
