Anastasia Galanopoulos, PhD, CLC, leads the New Mothers Support Groups at The Freedman Center. She holds a doctorate in Human Development and Family Studies and is certified in Lactation Consultation. Dr. Galanopoulos has taught at Wheelock College and Pennsylvania State University and serves as adjunct faculty at MSPP. Her expertise is in child development and parenting, as well as in lactation and group facilitation. She has over 15 years of professional experience working with professionals and families, and is the founder and principal of the parent coaching practice Parenting with Perspective.

Anastasia brings her passion for creating a community of support for New Mothers as well as her skill in helping parents enthusiastically begin their journey into parenthood to each group she leads. Anastasia is the proud mother of 3 boys.

Groups for first-time moms with babies up to 6 months. Choose a 6-week daytime series.

Each group meets with a professional facilitator and provides a wonderful opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, make new friends, and get some support. Discuss developmental issues, expectations of oneself as a new mom, changing relationships with family members, child care options, and much more.

Observation Notice for Families

To Parents/Guardians of Children Participating in Freedman Center Programs:
The Freedman Center for Child and Family Development at The Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology is a training site for students in our Child Studies Program.
For educational purposes only, some of the groups or classes at The Freedman Center will be observed by graduate students of MSPP as part of their study of child and family development. No individuals in the groups or classes will be identified by name in these observations and no research papers will be produced as a result of these observations.
When an observation is taking place, the graduate student observers will be introduced to the group or class before observing behind the observation window.

If the group or class for which you would like to register is FULL, please register for the next program offered. To be put on a Wait List for the program or series that is not open, you may email us at freedmancenter@mspp.edu or call 617-332-3666 x1250 and leave a message for us. When you contact us, please leave your name, which program you want, a phone number, and email address. We will contact you if we are able to accommodate you in the program.
