Community Service Projects
Community Service in New Orleans
Eileen O’Donnell, our Director of Student Services & Registrar, recently volunteered with members of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) in New Orleans. The volunteers worked with the St. Bernard Project, a nonprofit, community-based organization that rebuilds homes for Hurricane Katrina survivors in St. Bernard Parish, one of the areas hardest hit by Katrina.
Eileen worked with the volunteers to clean up a fitness facility, Southern Athletic Club, that had been heavily damaged during the hurricane. The clean up included fitness equipment removal and clean up. Thank you to Eileen for representing MSPP in this important work.

MSPP in the Community –
A Response to the Recent Earthquakes in Haiti
We are proud to introduce My Story about the Earthquake in Haiti, a therapeutic workbook for children and adolescents, by MSPP faculty member, Jodie Kliman, PhD and MSPP doctoral student, Dorothie Ferdinand, MA and staff at the Children’s Psychological Health Center (CPHC) in San Francisco, and Ekòl Akasya (Acacia School) in Pétion-Ville, Haiti. My Story about the Earthquake in Haiti is already helping children devastated by the January, 2010 earthquake in Haiti. It helps prevent or diminish the effects of PTSD in children who have experienced catastrophic collective events, including natural disasters, wars, terrorist attacks, and family difficulties including homelessness and the need for foster care.
