Faculty

Mark Ouchida, MEd, ALM

Mark Ouchida is the Assistant Director, of the Undergraduate Degree Programs, at the Harvard University Division of Continuing Education. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Loyola University, a Master of Education degree from Lesley College, and a Master of Liberal Arts, with a Field of Study in Psychology, from the Harvard University Extension School. He has over 30 years of teaching experience in areas including music theory, psychology, quantitative reasoning, research methods and statistics. For the past 14 years, he has focused his teaching on developing quantitative reasoning skills and an understanding of applied statistics with adult learners. His primary objective has been to demystify the study of statistics and research by merging theory and practice into a meaningful and dynamic process -- a process informed by intuition as well as knowledge. As the Coordinator of the Second Year Research Methods curriculum, Mark will work closely with the faculty of both the Quantitative and Qualitative Methods courses to not only develop and craft continuity within each realm but also a synergistic connection between them.
