Melissa Morey received a Masters degree from Fitchburg State University and interned at YOU Inc. Melissa has work experience in a variety of social services settings including community-based, residential and in both inpatient and outpatient settings. In addition to her private practice, Ms. Morey is also the Assistant Program Director for YOU Inc.’s Therapeutic Mentoring program.
While adolescents are a primary specialty, Ms. Morey also works with couples and families, which is a natural subspecialty when working with children and adolescents. Additionally, Ms. Morey is trained in Power Source group facilitation, which is “a practical, accessible, and innovative book/curriculum designed to help highly at-risk youth identify their strengths and take control over their lives, while increasing their understanding of the emotions and beliefs driving their high-risk and offending behavior. It is currently being utilized in approximately 3000 programs across the United States (lionheart.org). In terms of diagnostic profiles, Ms. Morey has extensive experience working with adolescents with conduct disorders as well as children and adults diagnosed with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, oppositional defiant disorders, depression and PTSD.
